Each year, National Geographic continues to produce awe-inspiring images through its annual photography competition.
The National Geographic Travel Photo Contest is open for entries from March 18 through to May 3, 2019 and the magazine has just revealed some of its most stunning entries for week three.
Clicking through the gallery above, you can see pictures of Italy’s Dolomites at sunset, a lightning bolt near Athens’ Acropolis and a sunrise silhouette of the Taj Mahal in India.
The three categories are nature, cities and people – so if you think you’ve got a stunning image or two from your travels, you can enter the competition here.
The grand prize winner will win $7,500 (£5,730) and will be featured on the @natgeotravel Instagram account which boasts 30 million followers.
First place winners in their respective categories will take home £2,500 (£1,910) and there are also monetary prizes for second and third place.
