The wait is over for foodies and restaurateurs alike - 25 exceptional restaurants from across Great Britain and Ireland have been awarded new Michelin Stars in the Michelin Guide 2022.

First started in 1900, the awards are the hallmark of culinary excellence, with each star often signifying decades of dedication and craft.

Chefs can receive up to three illustrious stars per restaurant, with one star signifying a 'very good restaurant', and three stars meaning 'exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey'.

The plates are often flamboyant, with flashy set menus and obscure ingredients — but not all featured restaurants are out of touch or marked at ridiculous prices.

In fact, recent scoring praised places for their 'down-to-earth service' and 'fuss-free dishes', and there are plenty of restaurants that (when timed right), will only set you back £30.
