10 more Cook County court employees test positive for COVID-19

Ten more employees of the Cook County Office of Chief Judge have tested positive for COVID-19.

One of the employees is an administrative staff member at the Daley Center, and the other works in the social services department and was at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse last week, the Chief Judge’s office said Wednesday.

Eight of the employees work at the Juvenile Temporary Detention Center — but there were no new cases reported among juvenile detainees.

Since the start of the pandemic, 69 juvenile detainees and 87 staff members at the Near West Side detention center have tested positive for COVID-19, the office said.

A total of 211 employees and 17 judges in the office have tested positive for the virus.
