Losing your pet is one of the most emotionally exhausting things that we can experience.
It’s something that we assume will never happen to us and our beloved pets but sadly dogs can and will go missing, and it’s so much easier than we believe.
We spoke to Pet Alert Wales, who have a Facebook group that is dedicated to spreading the word about lost dogs, cats and all other animals in Wales.

They are part of a larger group that operates other branches across the UK, USA, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg and it’s clear how hard they work to get word out in an attempt to reunite lost pets with their devastated owners.
Here are 10 dogs that are currently missing in Wales:
Meg - Jack Russell Terrier
Meg is a female Jack Russell Terrier who disappeared in Llanfyllin, Brithdir in the SY22 area on June 8.
Meg is microchipped and is wearing a collar with an ID tag. She went missing on a family farm beside a main road.

Bella - Cross breed
Bella the female cross breed went missing on July 1 whilst on a walk on the Wales Coast Path in Caswell, Swansea.
She is microchipped and spayed and and went missing wearing a black collar with an extender lead still attached. She is a nervous Romanian rescue.

Porscha - American Bulldog
Porscha the female American Bulldog disappeared in Tonypandy on June 29 around the area of Mountain Road, CF40. She is a young female who is spayed.

Scruffy - Yorkshire Terrier
Scruffy is a male Yorkshire Terrier who is from Bangor. He went missing in Maesgeirchan LL57 on June 26.
Scruffy is microchipped and was wearing a red collar. Most importantly, he is a therapy/comfort dog who went missing in the early hours of the morning.

Felix - Terrier Cross
Felix the male Terrier Cross has gone missing in Newton Hall around Haverfordwest SA62 on June 14.
Crucially, Felix is 18 years old, deaf and partially blind.

Sweetpea - Chihuahua
Sweetpea the female Chihuahua disappeared in Llanelli around New Dock Street SA15 on June 25.
She is microchipped and possibly still wearing a pink collar. She is a support dog for a young child with a heart condition.

Ernie - Caerphilly
Ernie the lost male Shih Tzu dog went missing in Caerphilly, near the leisure centre, CF83 on June 22.
Ernie is microchipped and neutered. He went missing whilst at an owner’s friend’s home.

Rio - Lurcher
Rio the male Lurcher went missing in Rhymney in the NP22 area on June 18 He is microchipped and is missing with another dog.

Lucy the lost Lurcher disappeared alongside Rio. Lucy is also microchipped.

George - Cocker Spaniel
George the male Cocker Spaniel went missing on Ynyshir Farm, Talacre in Flintshire CH8 on June 12.
George is microchipped and went missing between Ynyshir Farm and Treetops Caravan Park whilst out on a walk. George is not familiar with the area as his family were on holiday.
