10 minutes with....Charlie Greenstein, head of TV and film at Tatton Locations

To what do you attribute your success?

Reminding myself that I’m as good and as able as anyone else. Apart from Andre Geim and Kate Bush!

What is the best piece of advice you have been given?

Be yourself – it’s so simple but so true. And the one about ‘accepting the things you cannot change, the courage to change the things you can, and the wisdom to know the difference’ keeps popping into my head recently.

Who has inspired you most in your career?

There has been a few, some who know it, some who don’t. I admire authenticity, the courage to be oneself.

I think so highly of my first two bosses at the BBC, Helen Bullough and Mario Dubois, both brilliant managers and people.

When I lived in Sydney I worked for Malcolm Turnbull and Sean Howard, both incredibly successful business people who got things done. But I love the organisation I work for currently – I learn and push myself in new ways every day.

Bernie Sanders (AP)

What car do you drive?

A Fiat 500 (12 years old!), with Bernie Sanders for President 2016’ bumper stickers. It gets me stopped in the street, in a good way.

What was the last book you read?

The Sober Diaries. I gave up alcohol a year ago – one of the most difficult but best decisions I’ve ever made.

What is your favourite holiday destination?

Mexico City. Completely bananas!

What’s your favourite restaurant and why?

The Belle Epoque in Knutsford – Art Nouveau, nostalgic, atmospheric, cosy corners and incredible food.

How do you relax?

I love a massage but it has to be from Vania at the Knutsford Spa.

How do you maintain a work/life balance?

I have to, I’m forced to! In fact, I’d like to work more, they won’t let me!

What’s the number one attribute you seek in an employee?

Integrity, sense of humour, organisation and, really importantly, kindness.

What impact have market disruptors technology had on your business?

The Tatton Estate features several thousand acres of agricultural land and buildings including some of significant historic value.

Through a programme of regeneration and innovation, the Tatton Group has created opportunities for future generations to thrive in traditional as well as exciting new industries not usually associated with the rural landscape. Tatton TV & Film being just one.

Tell us one thing about yourself that no one else knows.

Random, but I love crumpets! When I lived in Sydney, my mum would send me Warburtons crumpets in a shoebox – not very glamorous but I can’t get enough of them!
