10 incredibly fun things to do with kids in Bristol this June

From summer fairs to open-air productions, there's a host of exciting events planned this month to keep the whole family enertained.

As the days grow warmer, it's such a treat to be able to plan activities outside and let the little ones enjoy a little sunshine.

We've rounded up the best events planned for June to make sure you don't miss out on anything.

Old Vic: In The Willows

Mixing street dance and lively beats with one of the most classical childhood stories of all time, this show promises to be an entertaining fun afternoon for all ages.

SS Great Britain: Sea Hear Storytelling

This monthly event offers little ones the chance to hear some captivating maritime tales.

The free sessions are hosted in the Brunel Institute and include stories of whales and angel fish, pirate treasure and stormy seas.

When?  June 2 at 11am.

Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park:  Eid Al-Fitr Extravaganza!

Little ones will be able to enjoy a full day in the park and all the usual activities before a colour-smoke firework display rounds the day off.

There will also be  a funfair on site to add an extra special element to the day.

When? June 4 until 10pm.

St Werburgh's summer fair

Expect lots of live music, food stalls, craft workshop, storytelling and face painting during this explosive party.

It's always a firm favourite in the diary attracting huge crowds from across the city.

Playing this year will include the likes of Bristol Samba and Backbeats Soundsystem.

When? June 8 from 12pm till 7pm.

Willow Tree jumble sale

Who doesn't love a good rummage in an open top sale? This event is held in St Werbugh's Steiner kindergarten so kids can use the school's outdoor garden, complete with mud kitchen and swings, while parents pick up a few bargains.

There will also be a BBQ, cake sale  and raffle.

When? June 9, between 12pm to 3pm.

The event will take place in Lynmouth Road, St Werburgh's.

Creative Workspace: Creativity for the Under 5s

Kids will be encouraged to take part in free-flow pre-school creative activities to mark the national Get Creative Week.

Events will be held both in the venue's cafe and outside.

Parents are advised to buy tickets before the day as there's only a limited amount on offer.

When? June 11 and 12 from 11am.

Zion: Children's Festival

Little ones can enjoy face-painting, music, singing, craft and circus skills during this family-fun day.

The cafe will be open serving breakfast, brunch and lunch plus hot and cold drinks and snacks.

When? June 15 from 10:30am to 4:30pm.

Easton Art Trail

Young and old artists will be showcasing their work during this one-day event.

There'll be a chance for kids to get on their feet and dance during a live performance by the Tadha Crew - a Bristol street dance group.

Fancy dress is also encouraged.

Wild Place: Bear sculpture

Kids are being set the challenge to discover all 20 of the attraction's 6ft tall hand painted bear sculptures dotted around the park.

Each are decorated by local artists with a unique design ranging from sunset bears to models covered in Bristol's folklores.

There's also sticker rewards for those who find enough bears.

When? Running throughout June.

Wild Place: The Secret Garden

This family-friendly open-air show will take place in the beautiful park, close to the animals.

Parents are encouraged to bring blankets to the production brought by the Chapterhouse Theatre Company.
