10 dreamy European winter wedding destinations with guaranteed snow

Summer has long been the favoured season for UK weddings. A 2018 report from wedding planning site Bridebook reported that 44 per cent of all British weddings happen in the summer months while just eight per cent of Brits choose winter for their wedding.

Yet, there are a myriad of reasons to opt for a winter wedding. Namely, a wedding in the winter months can be a lot cheaper, has a cosier ambience and the magical prospect of snow.

While snowfall in the UK can be unpredictable, many of our European neighbours are blanketed with powdery flakes from late autumn to early spring.

Destination weddings have been on the rise in recent years as have three-day weddings. According to the Bridebook report, there has been a 23 per cent increase in couples choosing to spread their wedding celebrations across two or three days instead of the traditional one day.
