Travelling on holidays over the past two years has been a fair bit different to what we’re used to.
Pre-departure tests, passengers locator forms and vaccine passports have become common amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Countries across the globe have especially stepped up their surveillance of travellers during the emergence of the Omicron variant.
And due to the large number of daily cases being reported by Scotland and the rest of the UK, more and more nations are shutting down their borders to holidaymakers on this island
Here are some of the countries that have tightened restrictions on UK travellers.

France
Anyone looking to travel to France from any part of the UK can only do so for essential reasons - regardless of vaccination status.
French nationals, as well as residents in France, are able to make the journey over but must self-isolate for at least 48 hours on their arrival.
Travellers must take a PCR or an antigen test during this time. Failure to show a negative test means that self-isolation will be required for 10 days.
Netherlands
The UK is defined by the Dutch government as a ‘high risk area’ meaning that all travellers heading over must quarantine for 10 days at a home address or in accommodation upon their arrival in the Netherlands.
Scots can leave quarantine if they test negative on a PCR test, which should be taken on day five.
If holidaymakers do not take a test on day five, then they will be required to do the full 10 days.
Australia
Travel into Australia is only available if you are exempt or have been granted an individual exemption.
People exempt from the strict travel rules includes Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, an immediate family member of an Australian citizen and airline crew.
New Zealand
The New Zealand border is currently closed to almost all arrivals at the moment.
It is hoped that all fully vaccinated foreign nationals will be allowed to travel into New Zealand from April 30 this year.
Israel
Scots are currently banned from travelling to Israel, unless they have permission from the national government.
The UK is currently defined as a red listed country in Israel.
Morocco
All international flights and ferry services have been suspended in and out of Morocco until January 31.
China
All direct flights from the UK to China have been suspended by the Chinese government.
The measure is expected to be reviewed in the near-future, but a date has not yet been announced.
Japan
All foreign nationals, who do not have existing resident status, are not allowed to enter Japan for any purpose - other than exceptional reasons.
The guidance also applies to foreign nationals in possession of visas issues recently who have not yet entered Japan.
Hong Kong
From January 8, Scots travelling in from the UK will not be permitted to enter Hong Kong under new rules announced by the government.
Anyone arriving before then will be required to undergo compulsory quarantine at the a designated quarantine centre for the first four days of a 21-day period of self-isolation.
The remaining 17 days will be spent in a designated quarantine hotel.
Taiwan
All foreign nationals are currently banned from entering Taiwan, unless they are exempt.
There is currently no set date on when border restrictions will be lifted.
