Less than 24 hours after opening up their Premier League season with a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace, Chelsea were back in action in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Weymouth.
The Blues came away comprehensive 13-0 winners as they looked to get their players who have been light on pre-season action up to speed in time for next weekend's clash against Arsenal.
Weymouth announced that the Blues XI was 'full of international players' with an agreement in place to keep the side secret but their club media showed a number of the Chelsea stars in action.
Callum Hudson-Odoi, Ethan Ampadu, Emerson Palmieri, Ross Barkley, Reece James, Thiago Silva, Kurt Zouma, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Ben Chilwell, Davide Zappacosta and Michy Batshuayi all appear to have featured in the win.
James and Emerson both played cameos against Palace, while Hudson-Odoi, Chilwell, Silva, Zouma and Kepa were all involved in the matchday squad. Batshuayi, in turn, has been closely linked with a move to Turkey.
Hudson-Odoi opened the scoring before Batshuayi scored the first of his five goals to make it 2-0. Ross Barkley and Thiago Silva also scored before half time. The former scored two more in the second period while Hudson-Odoi scored his second and Reece James finished the rout with an emphatic strike.
