With the coronavirus crisis we've seen the importance science plays in our everyday lives, and the pandemic has highlighted the importance of researchers working to find cures to deadly disease and illness.
Possibly as a result of this, recent surveys have suggested the UK public are as interested in science as they every have been.
In a 2015 Public Attitudes Survey found 91% said that young people's interest in science would be crucial to the future.
