Almost £10,000 raised for pregnant mum who lost home in Pollokshields fire

Almost £10,000 has been raised for a pregnant mum who lost her home and business as a result of a fire in Pollokshields last week.

Lucie Bradley's home suffered severe damage in the fire that happened at the junction of Kenmure Street and Albert Drive on Wednesday.

A well-known medical herbalist and holistic therapist in the area, Lucie is expecting her second child in August.

The CrowdFunder appeal set up by friend Kelsey Moore to help raise money for Lucie and her family has been inundated with donations from kind-hearted Glaswegians.

More than £5,000 was raised in just 24 hours, and the amount of donations had surpassed £9,190 at the time of writing - almost 10 times the original target of £1,000.

The news comes amid another appeal set up for a family who also lost their home in the same blaze.

A JustGiving page has been set up to help Talha Bashir and his family, with family friend Akash Sharda urging Glaswegians to "come together" to support them in this time of need.

More than £2,000 has been raised for them already.
