1 stat proves the Clippers should be the favorites to win the NBA title this year

I’ve been saying (and I’m far from the only one) for months: it doesn’t matter that the Los Angeles Clippers are behind the Lakers in the West.

Until they got healthy, the Clips’ full potential wouldn’t be reached. And before the All-Star break, Paul George hurt himself, Patrick Beverley missed some games, Kawhi Leonard sat out a bunch, and Doc Rivers was forced to use all kinds of different starting lineups.

But when they’re at full strength, the Clippers are formidable and then some. On Thursday night, the full squad took down the small-ball Houston Rockets in a blowout win. That brings us to this stat:

Look at that! Undefeated! Not just an empty stat, either. Look at all those notable wins — the Rockets, Heat, Thunder, Nuggets and Grizzlies are all good teams.

This means the rest of the NBA should be extremely nervous … and that the Clippers obviously need a fully healthy roster come playoff time. And isn’t that an argument for load management if the result is a ring?
