A man was fatally shot and another was hurt Monday in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

A 29-year-old was found lying outside a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the neck at 3:35 a.m. in the 2700 block of West Haddon Avenue, Chicago police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in fair condition.

The other man, 51, was found inside a nearby home with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition.

The 51-year-old was pronounced dead just after 4 a.m., the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. The man, who hasn’t been identified, died from his gunshot wound, and his death was ruled a homicide.

The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known and investigators have not located any witnesses, police said.

No one is in custody as Area Three detectives investigate.
