BHUBANESWAR: The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts JEE (Main), has identified nine cases of alleged impersonation during the exam conducted between August 26 and September 2. At least one impersonator was traced to Cuttack district.
Sources said the NTA has blacklisted 23 test centres in the country so far. It has put 49 centres and 419 candidates from different parts of India on its watchlist after the Union education ministry recently received complaints of alleged impersonation.
“An impersonator has been identified from an examination centre in Cuttack district. Investigation into the case is underway. The NTA is analysing other cases,” said a source.
Besides Odisha, cases of impersonation, possession of unauthorized material and other unfair means have been reported from centres in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
