
A person was killed in a shooting Monday in South Chicago, police said.
A male was in the street about 7 p.m. in the 2900 block of East 81st Street when he heard gunfire and felt pain, Chicago police said.
He was struck in the chest and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the fatality.
No arrests have been reported. Area South detectives are investigating.
