A 32-year-old passenger was killed in a rollover crash early Sunday in Heart of Chicago on the Near West Side, police said.

About 4:10 a.m., a male driving a Jeep at high speeds failed to stop at a red light in the 2200 block of South Ashland Avenue and was struck by an SUV traveling westbound on Cermak Road, Chicago police said.

The crash caused the Jeep to flip over on its roof, police said.

A 32-year-old man, riding as a passenger in the Jeep, was transported to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.

No other injuries were reported, according to police.

The driver of the Jeep was taken into custody, while the CPD Major Accidents Unit continues to investigate the crash.
