A person was killed in a shooting Friday in Gresham on the South Side.
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert about 3:40 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Paulina Street and found a male on the street with multiple gunshot wounds, Chicago police said.
He was taken to Christ Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead, police said. His age was not immediately known.
Although he remains unidentified, an autopsy conducted Saturday found he died of multiple gunshot wounds, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. His death has been ruled a homicide.
