Two people were shot, one fatally, Tuesday in incidents of gun violence across Chicago, including a man who was found dead in Park Manor on the South Side.
A 41-year-old man was talking on his cellphone about 5:35 a.m. while walking back to his apartment in the 6500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive when he told a witness that four people were following him, police said.
He made into his apartment but was shot in the chest and killed.
The man was found dead in his apartment about 5:40 a.m., according to police. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the fatality.
The other shooting injured a 27-year-old man who was arguing with someone in Lawndale.
About 4:28 p.m., he was arguing with a 43-year-old man in the 3100 block of West Flournoy Street when it turned physical, Chicago police said. The older man pulled out a handgun and shot him in the abdomen.
The younger man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said. The older man was arrested, according to police, who said charges were pending.
Monday’s shootings killed one person and wounded nine others.
