A man was killed and another wounded Sunday evening in a shooting in south suburban Lansing.
Officers were called about 7:20 p.m. for reports of gunfire in a parking lot in the 2100 block of 175th Street, Lansing police said in a statement.
When officers arrived, police received a call from one of the gunshot victims who had driven to the parking lot of a nearby American Sale store, police said.
Paramedics responded to that parking lot and found two men with gunshot wounds, police said.
One was taken to Franciscan Health in Hammond and pronounced dead, police said. The other was treated and released from Munster Community Hospital.
The Lake County coroner’s office has not released information about the death. Lansing police were not immediately available for additional comment.
