A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Wednesday in Englewood on the South Side, according to police.

They were standing on the sidewalk about 4:18 p.m. in the 5600 block of South Seeley Avenue when two males approached them from a nearby alley, Chicago police said. One of the males pulled out a gun and fired shots.

Garry Miller, 32, was hit twice to the back of his head and pronounced dead on the scene, police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

The other man, 26, was struck in the arm and refused medical attention, police said.

No one is in custody. Area South detectives are investigating.
