
Two people were shot, one fatally, Wednesday in Englewood on the South Side, police said.
They were driving through an alley about 3:41 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Throop Street when someone unleashed gunfire, Chicago police said.
A male was struck in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Another male was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the neck.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the fatality.
Area One detectives are investigating.
