Two people were shot, one fatally, Sunday in Englewood on the South Side, according to police.

Cornelius Jordan, 21, and his passenger, a 20-year-old woman, were driving about 10:15 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Wentworth Avenue, when someone in a silver sedan fired shots at them, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

Jordan was struck in the torso, causing him to crash the vehicle into a light box, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The woman was struck in the left arm and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where her condition was stabilized, authorities said.

Area South detectives are investigating.
