
Two men were wounded, one fatally, Sunday in East Garfield Park on the West Side.
About 9:25 p.m., the two men, 33 and 41, where standing outside in the 3200 block of West Congress Parkway when a group of men walked towards them and at least one of them opened fire, Chicago police said.
The younger man was struck in the chest and rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said. The 41-year-old man was struck in the leg and also taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where he is in good condition.
The Cook Country medical examiner’s office has not yet confirmed the man’s death.
No one is in custody as Area North detectives investigate the shooting.
