A man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Feb. 16, 2021, on the South Side.

Two people were shot, one fatally, Tuesday in the parking lot of a restaurant in Chatham on the South Side.

Officers responded about 7:20 p.m. to a call of shots fired in the 7500 block of South Lafayette Avenue and found two people with gunshot wounds, Chicago police said.

A shattered window could be seen at the drive-thru of a KFC, according to media reports.

A 25-year-old man was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He was identified as Dantrell Johnson of Englewood by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The other person, a 19-year-old man, was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition with a gunshot wound to his hand, police said.
