
A man was killed and another wounded in a drive-by Wednesday in Austin on the West Side, police said.
They were in the 1000 block of North Central Avenue about 12:30 p.m. when someone inside a passing vehicle opened fire, Chicago police said.
The two men, ages 45 and 36, took themselves to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, police said.
The 45-year-old, shot in the chest and shoulder, died at the hospital, police said. The 36-year-old was struck multiple times in the body and was listed in critical condition.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.
