A man was killed and a woman hurt in a shooting Thursday in Woodlawn on the South Side.

They were sitting in a vehicle in the 6100 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue about 11:30 p.m. when three people approached on foot and began shooting, Chicago police said.

The man, 23, was shot in his shoulder, the side of his body and back, police said. He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

He was identified as Dwight Wesley of Washington Heights by the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The woman suffered one graze wound to the head and another graze wound to the right thigh, police said. She was taken to the same hospital where her condition stabilized.
