A 17-year-old boy was charged in connection with an armed carjacking Wednesday on the Near North Side.

The teen is charged with one felony count of possession of a stolen vehicle, Chicago police said.

About 8:30 p.m., a 20-year-old woman was in her 2011 tan Honda CR-V in the 300 block of West Walton Street when two males — one of whom displayed a handgun — approached her and told her to get out of her car, Chicago police said.

The woman complied and the suspects jumped in and drove off, police said. Officers later stopped the car in the 7100 block of South Wolcott Avenue in West Englewood, and the teen was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported, police said.
