
KYOTO -- One person died and more than 40 were injured when a fire, possibly caused by arson, broke out at a studio managed by an animated film production company, Kyoto Animation Co., in Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, on Thursday morning.
According to the Kyoto city fire department, about 10 people were seriously injured in the fire, which started at around 10:35 a.m.
The Kyoto prefectural police were holding a man in his 40s in connection with the incident, alleging that he had set fire after sprinkling liquid inside the three-story building.
