2 hurt in Grand Crossing shooting

One person killed, one wounded in shooting Jan. 15, 2021 in Grand Crossing.

Two men were wounded, one of them critically, in a shooting Friday afternoon in Grand Crossing on the South Side.

The shooting happened about 12:45 p.m. in the 7500 block of South Langley Avenue, according to Chicago police.

A 22-year-old man was shot in his head and arm, and listed in critical condition, police said.

Another man, 21, was shot in his hip and leg, police said. His condition stabilized.

Both were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

The Chicago Fire Department initially said one of the men was pronounced dead, but it was later determined that the man was alive.
