A nursery student in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district got an unexpected shock when a 1.5-foot cobra emerged from his school bag inside the classroom while he was preparing to take out his books.
The incident took place on Wednesday at the Government Primary School in Chandpur village, located under Rahli block of Sagar district, as per TOI.
The child had reportedly opened his bag during class when the snake suddenly moved out, leaving him frightened. The student immediately dropped the bag and ran away from the spot.
Other children inside the classroom also panicked and rushed outside after seeing the snake.
How did the cobra enter the school bag?
According to the available details, the snake was believed to have entered the child’s bag before he reached school, possibly while the bag was kept at home.
However, the exact circumstances of how the cobra got inside the bag remain unclear.
The incident came to light only when the student opened the bag in the classroom and the hidden reptile suddenly appeared.
Teacher carries bag outside after students panic
As students moved away in fear, teachers quickly responded and reached the classroom.
Teacher Abhay Yadav carefully picked up the school bag and moved it outside the school building to prevent any further risk to the children.
The bag was then opened in the school premises, away from the classroom area.
A nearly 1.5-foot-long cobra came out of the bag, confirming the source of panic among the students.
Cobra rescued and released into forest
Yadav managed to safely rescue the snake and placed it inside a plastic container.
The cobra was later released into a nearby forest area, ensuring that it was moved away from the school and the students.
The child and other students were left shaken by the incident, but no injuries were reported.
