O2 will launch 5G internet speeds in Cardiff later this year, the mobile provider has announced.
The service, which promises download speeds between 10 and 20 times faster than what is available now, will be made available in the capital from October ahead of the rest of the UK.
Belfast, Edinburgh, London, Slough and Leeds will also take priority, before O2 rolls it out to 20 towns and cities by the end of the year.
The new network, which is already available to EE customers in Cardiff , promises to "radically improve capacity and reliability" in key areas - meaning customers can access faster speeds during peak times.
This will also include specific locations, like train stations and sports venues, the Mirror reports.
The news comes after both Vodafone and O2 agreed to share radio antennas and equipment to speed up the 5G roll out to compete with rival EE.
Three also plan to launch their 5G network this summer but it will only be available in London at first as a home broadband service.
But, while those on an O2 plan will be able to upgrade to 5G, the company are yet to reveal how much the service will cost.
How do I get 5G?
If you are an O2 customer you will need a 5G compatible phone, 5G sim card and be in a 5G coverage area.
Phones include the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, and the Xiaomi Mix 3G which the mobile service say will be available through them in August.
Meanwhile, EE is currently selling four devices capable of supporting the new technology: the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, Samsung Galaxy S10 5G, OPPO Reno 5G and LG V50 ThinQ.
For EE customers contracts start from £54 a month for 10GB of data, plus a one-off £170 fee.
How fast will it be?

While 02 have not announced the exact speeds of their 5G network, EE has said their service could offer peak speeds of 100-150Mbps in Cardiff.
In comparison, the provider has said that 50Mbps was the fastest speed possible when the network launched 4G in 2012.
However, to start with the the fibre lines linking each 5G site to its network will only have a total capacity of only 10Gbps.
As well as faster speeds, the 5G network will also be able to support more phones.
The EE service will be able to support more than a million devices per square kilometre, a compared to around 60,000 devices that 4G technology supports.
