Not only are James Bond fans excited for his upcoming game, they also have a new State of Play event to look forward this Wednesday, September 3, which will focus on the upcoming game, "007 First Light."
The upcoming showcase will focus on this game only, which is a rare setup for Sony and PlayStation, and this suggests that the new title from IO Interactive is set to be a massive one.
'007 First Light' Showcase on Sept. 3 State of Play
PlayStation has announced that it will hold a new State of Play event right at the start of September for the upcoming James Bond game, "007 First Light." PlayStation shared that the showcase will be a deep dive into the new game from IO Interactive and is expected to give players never-before-seen information about it.
Earlier this year, IO Interactive revealed its latest video game project, which veered away from its critically acclaimed franchise, "Hitman," that will offer an origin story of James Bond for the gaming world.
According to Sony and PlayStation, the new State of Play start at 11 a.m. Pacific Time (2 p.m. EST, 8 p.m. CEST) with fans from all over the world invited to join. PlayStation has already set up the new State of Play's livestream placeholder on YouTube (also embedded below) for the event's broadcast later this week.
Alternatively, fans may tune in to PlayStation's Twitch channel to join the event's livestream or opt for the company's YouTube livestream, which offers English subtitles along the way.
IO Interactive's '007 First Light'
Despite the game's official announcement and its teaser trailer being released last June, IO Interactive has yet to share more details about their new action RPG project featuring MI6's most prolific asset.
Fans were left with many questions after the game's trailer release, including who will be the next actor to take on the mantle of James Bond in the video game setup.
It has always been a big deal who will be the next Bond actor for its adaptations, and over the years, there have been many debates on who will suit up next.
In this new game, IO Interactive is focusing more on the beginnings of Bond's career as he joins the MI6 straight from his stint as a Royal Naval Reserve Commander, as seen in Sir Ian Fleming's novels.
The game portrays a young Bond in his early years of joining the Secret Service, with a significant threat already looking to disrupt the agency and the existence of the double-O ("00") program.
