007 Daniel Craig doesn't like it when you ask if he prefers it shaken or stirred

Grumpy Daniel Craig gets all shaken and stirred whenever he’s asked if he wants James Bond’s favourite drink.

The 007 star admitted his legendary cool is tested any time someone eggs him on to try a vodka martini.

And he revealed he prefers a Guinness or a nice golden pint of lager to the cocktail.

Daniel, 51, said: “Whenever someone asks me, ‘Would you like it shaken or stirred?’ I feel like punching him in the face.

“You go into a bar for one drink and you are served three. Besides, I am not really into martinis. I prefer beer.”

In the Ian Fleming novels, 007 ordered 19 vodka martinis and 15 gin martinis.

The actor, who has played Bond five times since 2005, was speaking ahead of the official trailer for the latest film No Time To Die this week. The movie is due in cinemas next April.

He added that contrary to his tough-guy screen image – and despite pretending to be James Bond as a child – he is scared of firearms and heights.

He said: “You might find this amusing, but I’m scared of guns.

“Seriously, I once saw a gunshot wound up close. It was horrible. And in a scene where I had to climb a 60-metre crane I overcame a paralysing fear of heights.”

Daniel, who once said he would rather slash his wrists than play 007 again, also said he was offered $5million (£3.8million) for his first Bond film Casino Royale but ended up getting paid double that.
