Ukraine’s anti-corruption units have raided the home and office of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff, it has been reported.
Two national agencies fighting corruption in Ukraine said they searched Andriy Yermak’s office and apartment this morning.
Often seen as Ukraine’s second most powerful man, Yermak has been leading recent negotiations in Geneva with the United States to rework a 28-point plan proposed by President Donald Trump to end Russia’s war in Ukraine.
He confirmed the raid with a post on messaging app Telegram, saying he was “fully cooperating” with the authorities.
Zelensky’s chief of staff, Yermak, has confirmed that NABU and SAPO are conducting searches related to him, saying that he is fully cooperating with investigators.https://t.co/NDcHL0krTv https://t.co/yRVi32lQTP

He said: “The investigators are not encountering any obstacles. They have been given full access to the apartment, and my lawyers are on site, interacting with law enforcement officials.”
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) - both Ukrainian anti-corruption watchdogs - conducted the raids according to a statement released today.
The statement did not disclose the reason for the raids, but it comes just two weeks after the two agencies announced a sweeping investigation into a $100 million energy sector corruption scandal.
Both NABU and SAPO have alleged that a group, including Ukrainian government officials, collected bribes from the state nuclear power company Energoatom.
Yermak has denied involvement in the scheme, telling German newspaper Welt last week: “People mention me, and sometimes, absolutely without any evidence, they try to accuse me of things I don't even know about.”
The scandal has heaped pressure on Zelensky as he seeks to secure further support from Western countries and vital foreign funding for Ukraine’s war effort against Russia.
