  • Cheng previously met President Xi Jinping in China in April and stated she is willing to meet anyone “conducive to peace,” including the US president.

  • The KMT recently reduced Taiwan's proposed defence spending, impacting funding for domestically-made equipment like drones, despite US support for increased military investment.
