The White House revealed that President Donald Trump will be visiting the new undocumented migrant detention center this week, also known as "Alligator Alcatraz", located in Southern Florida.

Social media users reacted with shock and disgust as White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced the President's visit to the new facility during a press conference at the White House on Monday.

"Tomorrow, President Trump will travel to the great state of Florida to attend the opening of a new illegal alien detention center located at Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport alongside Secretary Kristi Noem, Governor Ron DeSantis, Congressman Byron Donalds and other state and local leaders," Leavitt began.

"We hope to see many of you there. The facility is in the heart of the Everglades and will be informally known as 'Alligator Alcatraz'. There's only one road leading in, and the only way out is a one way flight. It is isolated, and surrounded by dangerous wildlife and unforgiving terrain," she continued.

"The facility will have up to 5,000 beds to house, process and deport criminal illegal aliens. This is an efficient and low-cost way to help carry out the largest mass deportation campaign in American history," she added.

Social media users quickly reacted to Leavitt's announcement with horror, referring to the facility as "barbaric" and comparing it to a concentration camp.

"Donald will celebrate the opening of his first notoriously brutal concentration camp. We are a barbaric country," said one.

"Concentration camp. The word is concentration camp," concurred another.

"Alligator Auschwitz, more like," wrote a third.

"Alligator Auschwitz, and they're proud of it," said a fourth.

"The way she talks about this American-made concentration camp with a smile on her face is sickening and infuriating," another commented.

Previously, the Florida National Guard revealed that they would be deploying some 100 troops to the facility in the Everglades to help maintain security.

"We don't have a set timeline for this mission due to the fluid nature of the situation, but we will stay on the ground for as long as we're needed and at the direction of Governor DeSantis," said Brittanie Funderburk, a spokesperson for the Florida National guard.
