When does John Lewis Christmas advert 2020 come out and will it be released tomorrow?

There is huge anticipation surrounding this year's John Lewis & Partners Christmas advert with many counting down the days until they see it on TV screens.

Earlier this week, an alternative heartwarming advert was released to YouTube which left viewers in tears as it aimed to highlight loneliness among the elderly.

Typically, the John Lewis advert should be due for release tomorrow (Thursday, November 13) which would mean it follows the same pattern of previous years.

Last year it was released on Thursday, November 14.

The star of 2019's advert was Edgar, an excitable young dragon who almost derailed festivities thanks to his fire-breathing excitement.

Edgar was first teased to fans five days before the official advert was released, when John Lewis set up a Twitter account @ExcitableEdgar which also revealed the advert's release date.

No Twitter account is yet to be set up for this year, which could indiciate the retailer is planning to release is Christmas advert later this year.

However, with the coronavirus pandemic meaning England is once again in lockdown and people across Liverpool already putting their Christmas decorations up, if there was ever a year to release a Christmas advert earlier, it is 2020.

Aldi, Asda and M&S Food have already released their Christmas adverts this year.
