A young highland dancer has inspired thousands with her determination after she continued with a difficult sword dance despite falling mid-performance. Lucy Clark, 4, started dancing a year and a half ago and her first big performance ended up being watched by thousands on social media when it was posted on Facebook.
Comedian Janey Godley and Lorraine Kelly were among the celebrities paying tribute to the youngster after she wowed the audience at Loch Lomond Shore's 20th Anniversary SummerFest Festival last week despite the mishap.
Lorraine called her a “wee lamb", while Janey wrote: “She fell down and got up again so quickly and carried on. A life lesson for us all.”
Other viewers on social media praised Lucy's determination to get up and keep going despite the fall and her mum, Ammie, who herself was a highland dancer, says she couldn't be more proud of her wee one and younger sister Lily, 3, who was also performing at the event.

Speaking to the Daily Record Ammie said: "As a parent, you're always proud of them. But it is just that little bit more special seeing how at four years old she was able to pick herself back up and carry on. It was quite incredible to see.
"It was less than a second and she was back up and trying to fix her swords, I knew at that point she was going to get up and keep going. She is quite determined in that way and likes to see things through."
Ammie said the fall was the first time anything like that had ever happened to Lucy and something that every parent of a Highland dancer worries about.
She added: "All parents of highland dancers worry when they do the swords that something might happen and go wrong but seeing how she handled it was lovely and to see how the crowd and the other dancers from the dance school were cheering her on."
Comments flooded in from members of the public with many branding little Lucy as amazing and praising her focus to keep going.
One wrote: "How great was she at doing the sword dance, even when she had a slight fall she carried on like a professional. Hope she keeps dancing . What a “STAR'"
A second added: "Such a talent, pure concentration not interested in the crowd or cameras. Great to be so unfazed by the stumble, amazing."
Another said: "Wee toots- you are amazing! We all fall in life and you’re a shining example to dust yourself down and keep going! Great job."
A teary-eyed fan added: "So good this wee lassie danced with such focus, determination and absolute conviction. She brought tears to our eyes. A lass Scotland can be proud of. Congratulations sweet heart."
Anne, her grandmother, added: "My wonderful granddaughter nothing upsets her."
