Trump urged to include imprisoned British couple in Iran peace deal

  • The family of British couple Craig and Lindsay Foreman, who were in 2025 sentenced to 10 years in Iran's Evin prison for espionage, is urging US President Donald Trump to include their release in any potential deal to end the war.
  • Lindsay's son, Joe Bennett, travelled to the United States in March to seek assistance, highlighting the couple's dire prison conditions and lack of legal representation.
  • “Peace cannot just mean quieter borders and open shipping routes. It must mean people coming home,” he said.
  • The couple, who were on a round-the-world motorbike trip at the time of their arrest, lost an appeal in February and are now on a hunger strike.
  • The British government has called their sentence “totally unjustifiable” and said that it will continue to press for their release.
