Donald Trump failed to explain why he voted by mail despite calling the method a form of “cheating”.
The US president recently casted a mail-in-ballot for a special election in Palm Beach, Florida. Mr Trump was at his Mar-a-Lago resort in the area when in-person voting was available from 20 March to 22 March.
When asked on Thursday (26 March) why he’d used postal voting despite frequently and baselessly claiming it was open to fraud, Mr Trump said: “You know what, because I’m president of the United States... I did a mail-in ballot for elections that took place in Florida.”
After he claimed that he actually in Washington DC instead of “taking in the beautiful sunshine,” a reporter disputed his claim, asserting that he was in Palm Beach for the second weekend of early voting.
He agreed before listing out reasons people are eligible to use mail-in-ballots.
