Trump says US will leave Middle East ‘very soon’ after Iran deny negotiations

  • Donald Trump told reporters on Tuesday night the US would be withdrawing from the Middle East "very soon”, adding that the war on Iran will end within “two to three weeks”, and predicted that peace would lead to a significant drop in oil prices.
  • Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, confirmed receiving messages from a US envoy but denied any ongoing negotiations, stating that trust in talks with the US was "at zero”.
  • Ongoing missile and drone attacks were reported, including an Iranian drone strike causing a large fire at Kuwait's international airport and a missile launch from Yemen towards Israel.
  • US Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested the "finish line" for the Iran conflict was in sight, while US Central Command refuted claims of attacking civilian areas in Iran.
  • The United Arab Emirates implemented a ban on most Iranian passport holders entering or transiting Dubai, and the conflict has contributed to soaring oil and jet fuel prices globally.
