- Donald Trump has proposed painting the Eisenhower Executive Office Building (EEOB) white, arguing that its current slate-grey exterior clashes with the neoclassical architecture of the White House.
- The proposal states the EEOB's French Second Empire style 'lacks any symbolic cohesion with the White House' and aims to address existing cracks and neglect in its stone facade.
- These plans have been submitted to the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA), a panel of Trump appointees responsible for advising on public buildings in Washington, D.C.
- Separately, Trump also revealed plans for a 250-foot 'triumphal arch' on Memorial Circle, which has also been submitted to the CFA for consideration.
- Both the EEOB painting and the triumphal arch proposals are scheduled for review by the Commission of Fine Arts at a meeting on 16 April.
