Trump responds to Xi’s ‘declining nation’ remark

  • President Donald Trump claimed Chinese President Xi Jinping's remarks about the U.S. being a "declining nation" were directed at the Joe Biden administration.
  • Trump asserted that Xi was not referring to his own administration, which he characterized as a period of "incredible rise" for the United States.
  • Posting on Truth Social, Trump expressed optimism for improved U.S.-China relations. “Now, the United States is the hottest Nation anywhere in the world, and hopefully our relationship with China will be stronger and better than ever before!” the president wrote.
  • Trade relations and the ongoing war in Iran have been central topics at the two-day U.S.-China summit in Beijing.
