Trump posts list of Iran demands after ‘final decision’ meeting

  • President Donald Trump concluded a White House meeting on Iran without approving a proposed agreement, despite earlier indications he would make a “final determination.”
  • Instead, Trump posted demands on Truth Social, insisting Iran must never possess nuclear weapons and must reopen the Strait of Hormuz without imposing tolls.
  • He also said that Iran's uranium stockpile would either be transferred to the US or destroyed under international oversight.
  • The proposed memorandum of understanding aimed to extend a ceasefire by 60 days, facilitate shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, and initiate talks on Iran's nuclear programme, though no agreement was confirmed by Friday evening.
  • Iran's Fars news agency dismissed parts of Trump's account as a “mixture of truth and falsehood,” while defense secretary Pete Hegseth warned of potential renewed strikes if negotiations failed.
