- The six soldiers, from the 103rd Sustainment Command based in Iowa, were killed by a drone strike at a command centre in Kuwait.
- “It's a very sad day,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One as he returned to Florida later Saturday afternoon, saying that he was “glad we paid our respects”.
- Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and other top administration officials, alongside the grieving families, were also present at the ceremony.
- During the ritual, Mr Trump saluted each flag-draped transfer case as it was moved from the military aircraft to awaiting vehicles.
