Trump clashes with another cabinet member over gas prices staying high until 2027

Donald Trump publicly rebuked his Energy Secretary, Chris Wright, over predictions regarding the duration of high gas prices.
Secretary Wright had stated that elevated gas prices, stemming from a global supply shock, might persist until 2027.
Trump countered, insisting that gas prices would fall immediately once a peace agreement is finalized to end the conflict in Iran.
Iranian forces announced the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed, linking its reopening to the lifting of the U.S. naval blockade, which has caused oil prices to spike.
The disagreement occurs as a two-week ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is set to expire, with ongoing diplomatic efforts facing Iran's stated non-participation in talks.
