Iran's Foreign Minister linked the re-opening to the Israel-Lebanon ceasefire, though Trump denied any connection, also claiming Iran agreed to cease uranium enrichment.
Trump continued to post on Truth Social, asserting Iran would never close the strait again and criticising media for not praising his role.
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron announced a "multinational mission" to protect shipping in the strait.
Trump rejected this international security cooperation, telling NATO to "stay away" and labelling them a "Paper Tiger."
