Trump announces peace deal has been reached with Iran

US and Iranian officials have agreed on a framework to end their conflict, halt the US blockade of Iran, and reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The agreement was announced by US President Donald Trump on Truth Social and confirmed by Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
A memorandum of understanding is scheduled for official signing on Friday in Switzerland.
Mr Trump said that the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route, would reopen on Friday, and ordered an end to the US blockade of Iranian ports.
Following the news, global oil prices, including Brent crude and US West Texas Intermediate, fell significantly.
