Running back C.J. Prosise has everything to prove Thursday night

Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise has one last chance to prove himself this summer. Fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster, Prosise will get that shot Thursday night against the Raiders to close out the preseason.

After battling injuries in camp, Prosise made his debut last Saturday in Los Angeles and finished the night at the team’s leading rusher, logging five carries for 32 yards and a touchdown. He’ll need a similar performance at CenturyLink Field.

“He had a great week, he responded beautifully to the play last week, he’s going to get a lot of playing time,” coach Pete Carroll said Wednesday. “He deserves a lot of playing time, we need to see him and he has to make up for some lost time. I’ve always admired the range of ability that he brings and I’m hoping he can have a game again where he can show it and make it obvious that he belongs.”

Prosise’s talent has rarely been in question, it’s his ability to remain healthy that has been cause for concern. With so many injured players on the squad already, Seattle will have some tough decisions to make during the 53-man cutdowns on Saturday. An impressive performance against Oakland will put Prosise firmly on the radar.
