Report: Best-case scenario for Von Miller is 3-month recovery

After suffering a dislocated peroneal tendon in practice Tuesday, Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller is expected to undergo surgery.

The general recovery time after surgery is five-to-six months. The “absolute best-case scenario” for Miller would be a three-month recovery, according to a report from NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

If Miller is placed on injured reserve, he would be eligible to be activated back to the 53-man roster after three weeks (but he would obviously need much longer than that to recover). If Denver makes the playoffs this year, there is a chance that Miller could potentially return for the postseason if the best-case scenario happens in his recovery.

Miller suffered the injury while pass rushing at practice Tuesday. It was a non-contact injury that happened before Miller had engaged his blocker, according to a report from KUSA-TV’s Mike Klis.

Miller is scheduled to become a free agent following the 2021 season.
